Each year, our radiation oncology physics residents recognize a faculty member whose commitment to teaching and mentorship has made a meaningful impact on their training experience. We are pleased to share that Dr. Lindsay Zammit has been selected as this year’s Physics Educator of the Year.

Over the past two years, Dr. Zammit has stood out for her exceptional approach to education and her unwavering support of residents. She is known for making complex topics approachable—taking the time to explain challenging concepts from multiple angles, working through material step by step, and ensuring each learner feels confident in their understanding. From detailed discussions of TG-51 and linac components to hands-on learning opportunities in quality assurance, her teaching consistently goes above and beyond.

Dr. Zammit’s influence extends throughout the residency program. She has played an important role in guiding residents through weekly chart checks, contributing to educational sessions, and supporting the training of radiation therapy students. Residents particularly appreciated her engaging teaching style, including a memorable detector demonstration that brought difficult concepts to life in an accessible way.
