Biography
2024 Physics Residency Alumna
I am an Assistant Professor and board-certified Medical Physicist in the Department of Radiation Medicine. I am currently serving as the Associate Director of Physics Graduate Student Outreach within the department. I am passionate about education and training the next generation of professionals in radiation oncology. I have revived a clinical observership for our Medical Physics graduate students and am engaged in numerous teaching efforts, including mentoring the Linacs and Detectors rotation for our physics residents, guest lecturing for our Physician Resident Summer Physics course, and taking a more active role in our Advance Brachytherapy graduate level course.
Clinically, I am involved in our brachytherapy service, which includes high-dose-rate (HDR) iridium treatments for gynecological, prostate, and skin cancers and iodine-125 eye plaque therapy. I am also responsible for the quality assurance and maintenance of one of our TrueBeam linear accelerators. In addition to my clinical work, I have an interest in clinical research which can enhance patient safety and quality of care while improving clinical workflow efficiency.
