Biography
I am an associate professor in the Department of Radiation Medicine and member of the UW Carbone Cancer Center. My clinical specialties include proton therapy, imaging for radiation therapy and thoracic radiotherapy. My research interests include functional lung imaging, Monte Carlo dosimetry, dual energy CT for proton therapy and reducing radiation-induced toxicities.
I am passionate about education (particularly in the areas of capacity building, outreach and mentorship) and have served as a medical physics graduate program director. I am on the Board of Directors for the Society of Directors of Academic Medical Physics Programs and on the Graduate Education Program Review Committee for CAMPEP. I am also on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine and a volunteer of the American Board of Radiology. Another passion of mine is global health and I am a member of the UWCCC Global Oncology group. I’m engaged in global education initiatives through AAPM International Council committees, as well as through Medical Physics for World Benefit.
