Biography

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Medicine at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where I provide general photon physics support across the department. Prior to joining UW–Madison, I served on the faculty at the University of Chicago and Northwestern University, with clinical experience spanning HDR and LDR brachytherapy, MR-guided adaptive radiotherapy, surface-guided radiation therapy (SGRT), and total body irradiation.

My research centers on translating engineering innovations into clinical practice. This includes the development of novel devices for radiation therapy, such as patient-specific 3D-printed applicators and a patented steerable brachytherapy applicator. I am also interested in practical QA solutions and AI-driven clinical software for radiation oncology workflows. In addition, I am excited to return to boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), a focus of my doctoral research, and to contribute to the effort to establish the first clinical BNCT facility in the United States here at UW–Madison.

I am active in the AAPM, where I serve on several working groups and subcommittees, as well as ASTRO, the American Brachytherapy Society, and ROECSG’s AI Committee. I am deeply committed to mentoring, having supervised trainees ranging from high school students in cancer research pipeline programs to graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.
